Are we going to Bihać or not? The answer to this question wasn't so simple because of the COVID-19 situation, but we really wanted to complete a few years lasting project Culture Twinning – Twinning tourism promoting Cultural Heritage.
The sixth and the last meeting of the project, which contributed to the involvement of citizens and awareness of cultural heritage in several European partner cities trough education and lifelong learning, took place in Bihać. Although that just a few weeks ago seemed practically impossible. Unfortunately, not all partners could attend the final conference, so the event was a boutique gathering. The host really made an effort and prepared unforgettable closure of the project. They upgraded the closing conference with a wonderful experience of their cultural offer.
The urban pulse of the city with an extremely diverse and unique history of different cultures and religions enriches the offer on the river Una. National Park Una hides marvellous natural and cultural heritage with the mighty waterfall »Štrbački buk«. An extremely clean river provides a number of different activities on and along the water. We experienced a part of all that during our visit.
The event has officially concluded our joint project, but the established connections between partners will live on and create common stories backed with richness of natural and cultural heritage.
Partners in project: Development centre Novo mesto, Municipality of Novo mesto, Herceg Novi, Bühl, Langenhagen, Torun, Vilafranca del Penedes, Trnava, Bihać in ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy.
